OPTICA Online Lecture Series with Prof. Rick Trebino

On 1st February 2024, OPTICA Student Chapter of The NorthCap University hosted an online lecture series featuring Prof. Rick Trebino, an Eminent-Scholar Professor in Ultrafast Optical Physics at Georgia Tech. The event aimed to explore ultrashort laser pulse measurement and innovative approaches to lectures in optics.

Prof. Trebino delivered two insightful talks, “Measuring Everything You’ve Always Wanted to Know About an Ultrashort Laser Pulse” and “Re-Inventing the Lecture”, giving all attendees valuable insights into cutting-edge techniques in ultrashort laser pulse measurement such as FROG, TURTLE, etc. and thus advancing our understanding of this complex topic. 

His expertise provided a comprehensive overview of the latest advancements in the field, offering us a deeper understanding of ultrashort laser pulse dynamics and applications.

The Q&A sessions and discussions were not only interactive but also enriching, giving students the opportunity to delve deeper into the intricacies of ultrashort laser pulse measurement and expand their understanding of ultrashort laser pulse dynamics, and explored its wide-ranging applications.
